其作品以金屬絲線為素材，並運用編織技法進行創作，例如編織、打結、搓捻、纏繞等，讓原本剛性的金屬展現出柔性的線條，也成為其獨特的作品風格，昆蟲與動物都曾是其創作主題，而她與數學家胡達開先生的婚姻，以及1971年至1973年兩年在台灣的生活，也促使她選擇中國的龍和鳳凰為創作主題，之後寬項鍊、手環、耳環以線條流暢的抽象設計，成為她作品的主流，1970~1990年代期間曾嘗試不同風格之創作，近來則再度開始嘗試創作擁有具體形象的花卉型胸針。

Mary Lee Hu is famous for her signature soft-lined metalwork style which is accomplished by wire weaving techniques such as knitting, knotting, twisting and twining. She evolves the themes of her metalwork over time. Earlier she worked with insects/animals themes. Then she chose dragon and phoenix as her themes when she was inspired by her marriage to mathematician Tah-Kai Hu and her two-year stay in Taiwan from 1971-1973. She later took the streamlined abstract as the mainstream of her jewelry design in the forms of wide necklace, bracelet, and earrings. After trying for different styles from the 1970s to the 1990s, she started to design flower brooches recently.

洪京姬教授之作品創作類型多元，而作為一個創作者，洪教授亦嘗試結合時下不同的技法進行創作，其作品融合了自然的意境與現代抽象的元素，展現其多元的創作風格，洪教授的作品亦被美國大都會博物館與英國大英博物館等知名博物館收藏，顯見其作品之重要性與代表性。

Kyunghee Hong is an artist who works in many different styles. She is open to modern techniques, and her works of art are recognized by their diversified styles, organic conception, conciseness, and abstract. Her significance in the metal arts field may be proved by her artwork being included in some of the world’s most famous museums’ collection, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States and the British Museum in the United Kingdom.
